Once again, we have arrived at another Thursday which means we’re closer to the weekend. My playlist this week consisted of quite a few gems like the new album from Wale. We also checked out Petey Pablo’s debut, the 2nd Steady Mobb’n joint and Eve’s first album she put out. Playa Fly’s project called Fly Shit was also part of that playlist, but we are going in another direction for this one. The last album that was played took me back to the mid-90s. Soul for Real hit the scene with their debut album, Candy Rain and it went platinum. The title track was released in the late fall of 1994 and the album dropped in March of 1995. It’s been 25 years since it was released, but it still knocks till this day. My featured Throwback Thursday track is Candy Rain and it’s definitely a classic 90s R&B track.
Soul for Real went on to release two other singles from the album. Unfortunately, those singles didn’t reach the heights of Candy Rain, but the album is still a good one.
