Busta Rhymes has been a staple of hip hop for 30 years now. Before we knew him as the legend he is today, he was a part of the Leaders of the New School. They released a pair of albums in the 1991 and 1993. Busta got his big break when he appeared on the smash-hit Scenario by Tribe Called Quest. Busta had the charisma and energy that people gravitated to. In 1996, he released his debut album, The Coming. Before that, he appeared on the Flava in Ya Ear Remix which was huge when it was released. The Coming eventually went platinum as his single, Whoo Hah! Got You All in Check blew up. The single also went platinum and it established Busta as one of the rappers to look out for. About four months later, Busta released the second single off the Coming.
It’s a Party was the track and it featured Zhane who had a dope single Hey Mr. DJ at the time. It’s a Party was another great track off the album. The Coming featured Q-Tip, Def Squad, and Leaders of the New School and members of his Flipmode Squad. Overall, the Coming is a great album and one that had many anticipating more from Busta Rhymes. The Coming officially turns 25 years old today. The two singles, Do My Thing, Everything Remains Raw and Ill Vibe are my top 5 tracks. Check out the videos for Woo Hah!
