Fat Joe John Blaze for Throwback Thursday

Once again, we have arrived at another Thursday which means it’s closer to the weekend. My playlist this week consisted Common’s Like Water for Chocolate, a Jadakiss and Raekwon mixtape. Bizzy Bone’s Thug Revenge and Styles P Master of Ceremonies also were played. One joint off some of Jadakiss’s collaborations mixtape caught my attention. John Blaze is the track and it’s my Throwback Thursday track of the week, John Blaze is off Fat Joe’s Don Cartagena album and it features four of New York’s coldest spitters. When you have Raekwon, Nas, Jadakiss, Fat Joe and the late, great Big Pun on one track, you already know. I’ll go as far to say it’s one of the greatest posse cuts ever. We all know about the Flavor in Ya Ear Remix and Banned from TV, but this one is up there.

Don Cartagena was Fat Joe’s third album and the follow-up to the dope Jealous One’s Envy joint. The title track is one of my favorite Fat Joe joint because he straight killed the track featuring Puff Daddy. As mentioned before, the John Blaze track is one of the best posse cuts and a straight hip hop classic. Overall, the Don Cartagena album was really, really good and it was well-received seeing it went gold. Below is the track listing for the album and it’s followed by the stream links.
