Daddy’s Hangout Presents 16th Week NFL Predictions

NFL

Welcome to the 16th week of the NFL, this means there are two more games in the regular season. Last week my record was 3-4, which means my overall record drops to 55-47. My overall winning percentage dropped from 54.7% to 53.9%. With the playoffs inching closer, teams are trying to position themselves, try to make it or finish the season on a winning note. That was evident on Monday night when Carolina hurt the playoff chances of the Redskins on the road. This week I’ll be predicting another seven games with the hopes of getting back on the winning track. Let’s get started!!

New York Giants Logo NFLPhiladelphia Eagles logo NFLThis is the Thursday night game as the New York Giants visit the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants still have hopes of catching the Cowboys for the NFC East crown. With a win, New York clinches a playoff berth. They hold a win over the Eagles earlier in the season at home. It seems like the investment of the defensive side of the ball has paid off because they have been dominating. Can they continue against the Eagles? Philadelphia comes into this game on a 5-game losing streak, but they get back Tackle Lane Johnson from suspension. With Johnson out of action, Wentz has been running for his life. Could his return help the offense? In another close game from the Eagles, they’ll come up short once again.

New York Win 26-24

Miami Dolphins Helmet logoBuffalo Bills Helmet logoWe have a battle between a pair of AFC East teams with playoff implications. The Miami Dolphins visit the Buffalo Bills with the hopes of remaining in the final playoff spot. The Dolphins have won 8 out of their last 9 games to get into this position. Last week they manhandled the Jets, despite being without QB Ryan Tannehill. Can the Dolphins get closer to clinching a playoff berth? With the Bills all but out of the playoff race, can they play spoiler to the Dolphins postseason hopes? As rumors continue to swirl about the future of Rex Ryan, will the Bills go all out in their final home game? I think Buffalo will take care of Miami in this one.

Buffalo Win 24-17

Minnesota Vikings NFL logoGreen Bay Packers NFL logoWe have a battle between two NFC North teams that’s still fighting playoff position. The Minnesota Vikings will travel to Green Bay to face the Packers. Minnesota is currently 7-7 after starting the season with a 5-0 record. Despite losing 7 out of 9 games, Minnesota still have an outside shot at making the playoff with some help. Can the Vikings pick up the huge win on the road against Green Bay? The Green Bay Packers have won 4 games in a row after it seemed like they were out of the playoff picture. Green Bay actually control their own destiny as far as the playoffs go. If they beat Minnesota and Detroit next week, they’ll win the NFC North division. I believe they’re going to beat the Vikings.

Green Bay Win 31-21

Indianapolis Colts logo NFLOakland Raider logoHere is another match-up with playoff implications as the Indianapolis Colts visit the Oakland Raiders. Indianapolis sits a game behind the Texans and the Titans for the lead in the AFC South. The Colts will need to win their final two games and hope to finish in a tie with the Titans because they own the tie-breaker by beating them twice this year. Can the Colts travel to Oakland and upset the Raiders? For Oakland, it’s pretty simple, that’s win the final two games and get a first round bye in the playoffs. They definitely could use the bye because I’m pretty sure there’s lingering issues with the finger of Derek Carr. In the end, Oakland should come away with the victory and possibly knocking the Colts out of the playoff race.

Oakland Win 38-28

Baltimore Ravens Black LogoPittsburgh Steelers NFL logo NFLIf you’re into physical football, this is the game for you. The Baltimore Ravens visits the Pittsburgh Steelers for control of the AFC North and a playoff spot. Baltimore will have to win their final two games on the road to win the division. The Ravens won their previous game against the Steelers earlier in the year. Can the Ravens offense do enough to beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh? It’s simple for the Steelers; if they win then they clinch the division and earn a spot in the playoffs. Can the Steelers increase their winning streak to six games? I think this will be a close game and Pittsburgh should come away the winner.

Pittsburgh Win 23-16

Denver Broncos logo NFLKansas City Chiefs NFL logoThis is a battle of AFC West powerhouses as the Denver Broncos visit the Kansas City Chiefs. The Denver Broncos are tied with two other teams being a game out of the final Wild Card spot. Denver has lost two games in a row as the offense has scored a total of 13 points in those two games. Can the Broncos rebound and make a playoff push? The Kansas City Chiefs were on their way to sealing up a bye, but they fell at home to the Titans. The Chiefs can still earn that bye and win the division by winning the final two games and have the Raiders lose one. I’m going with the Chiefs to win and eliminate the Broncos from playoff consideration.

Kansas City Win 24-17

Detroit Lions helmet logo NFLDallas Cowboys Star Logo NFLWe have the final game of the week, which is the Monday night game. The Detroit Lions will visit the Dallas Cowboys in a battle of teams that could possibly face each other in the playoffs. Last week, Detroit had their five game winning streak snapped against New York. Will the hand injury to Stafford play a factor in this game against the Cowboys? It’s simple for the Cowboys, with a win over the Lions then they clinch the division and the top seed in the playoffs. Can the Dallas offense continue to strive against the tough Lions defense? I think it will and they should win to clinch the division plus the overall top seed.

Dallas Win 31-21
