Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL Predictions

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL Predictions

Welcome to Week 8 of the NFL season and the last weekend of October. My record from last week was 4-4, which means that my winning percentage remains at 50%. My overall record is 29-29 as things were looking up at the beginning. After the first three games, my record was 3-0, but ended up losing the next four out of five games. The New England Patriots blanked the New York Jets 33-0 on Monday Night Football. In the Sunday Night game, the Cowboys dominated the Eagles to take control of the NFC East. In what many thought would be a playoff preview, the Saints beat the Bears on the road in commanding fashion. Indianapolis took control of the AFC South with their impressive win over the Houston Texans. The Baltimore Ravens traveled cross country to Seattle and beat the Seahawks.

The Arizona Cardinals continue to impress as they went to New York and beat the Giants. Aaron Rodgers walked away with a perfect passer rating as the Packers downed the Oakland Raiders. Kirk Cousins is making some noise in Minnesota as he tossed four more TDs as the Vikings beat the Lions. As we all know, the big news in the NFL was Patrick Mahomes getting injured Thursday Night when the Chiefs beat the Broncos. This week, I’ll be predicting a total of seven games, which means I’ll be above or below the 500 mark. Can I head into the season’s midpoint with a record above 500? Let’s get started!

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsWe start things off with the Thursday night game as the Washington Redskins travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings. This will be the return of Kirk Cousins who spent his first five seasons in Washington. The Redskins have looked like one of the worse teams in the league. They come into this game with a 1-6 record and being shut out last week by the 49ers. Minnesota comes into this game riding a 3-game winning streak. Kirk Cousins have turned his season around and looking like an MVP candidate. Cousins are coming off another 4 touchdown performance and Dalvin Cook is looking great. Can the Vikings beat the Redskins to stay a game back off Green Bay? Will Washington put up a fight and upset the Vikings? I’m riding that Minnesota wave to the victory over Washington.

Minnesota Win 38-20

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsWe have a battle between two of the more surprising teams in the NFL. We have the Philadelphia Eagles continuing their road trip as they head to Buffalo to face the Bills. The Eagles have surprised many with how poor they have played being blown out their last two games. As bad as the Eagles have been, they’re still only one game out of the NFC East lead.  How will they fare against that tough Bills defense? On the other hand, Buffalo is out to a surprising 5-1 record. The Bills have one of the better defenses in the league and they proved that by slowing down New England. Can they continue their dominance against the Eagles? Will Philly show up like they did against Green Bay? I’m going with the Eagles to upset the Bills with a last second field goal.

Philadelphia Win 24-23

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsThis is a game that I didn’t think would end up being looked at when the season started. The Arizona Cardinals will travel to New Orleans to battle the Saints. The Cardinals have been on a roll lately and Kyler Murray isn’t playing like a rookie. The Cardinals defense has stepped up also with the return of Patrick Peterson from suspension. The Cardinals come into this game winner of three in a row, can they make it four? New Orleans is arguably the best team in the NFC, along with San Francisco of course. They have won five in a row and all of them without Drew Brees. While the offense gets a lot of the attention, the defense is what’s got the Saints looking like Super Bowl contenders? Can they slow down Kyler Murray? I’m thinking they will and prevail.

New Orleans Win 30-17

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsWe have a battle between two teams that’s looking to make a playoff run. The Carolina Panthers head out west to face the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. The Panthers are coming off their bye week and they’re still starting Kyle Allen at quarterback. As good as he’s been, this will be his toughest test facing the 49ers defense. Can the Panthers continue their winning ways against the 49ers? San Francisco is one of two undefeated teams in the league and the only one in the NFC. The offense just got a boost by trading for Emmanuel Sanders of the Denver Broncos. Sanders will give Garropolo another weapon and could boost their Super Bowl chances. Can the defense continue their dominate ways against the Panthers? How will Christian McCaffrey fare against the Niners defense? I’m rolling with San Francisco to remain unbeaten after this one.

San Francisco Win 27-17

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsWe head to the AFC for this matchup between playoff hopefuls. The Oakland Raiders travel down to Houston to face the Texans. The Raiders are coming off an embarrassing loss on the road against Green Bay. While Derek Carr had a great game, Aaron Rodgers picked apart the defense. With Patrick Mahomes being injured, Oakland has a legitimate shot in the AFC West. If that’s going to happen, they need to start winning games. Houston is coming off a disappointing loss in Indianapolis last week. With that loss, Houston drops to half-game behind the Colts in the AFC South. Deshaun Watson name has been mentioned in the MVP conversation, but he must rebound from a poor game. Houston will be hoping to get Will Fuller back for this game as he left early last week due to injury. In the end, Houston should come away with the win.

Houston Win 31-21

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsWe have the Sunday Night game, which could’ve been one of the most anticipated ones of the year. The Green Bay Packers travel to Arrowhead to face the Kansas City Chiefs. With the injury to Mahomes, we don’t get to see the Aaron Rodgers versus Patrick Mahomes we wanted. Green Bay comes into this game as hot as any team in the league. Aaron Rodgers is coming off a game where he had a perfect passer rating. Kanas City turns to Matt Moore to fill the shoes of Patrick Mahomes. The defense showed signs of greatness last week, but that was against the Broncos. Kansas City will probably have to shoot it out with the Packers offense. Will Matt Moore have it in him to accomplish that? This is a tough one, but I’m thinking Green Bay continues their winning ways.

Green Bay Win 34-24

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 8 NFL PredictionsWe have the Monday Night game between two of the more legendary franchises in the league. The Miami Dolphins travels to Heinz Field to face the Pittsburgh Steelers. As we all know, Miami is probably the worse team in the NFL. They haven’t won a game and with their schedule I’m thinking 0-16 isn’t out the realm of possibility. With this being Monday Night football, could the Dolphins surprise us all? Pittsburgh is coming off their bye week with the hopes of getting healthier. Mason Rudolph should be out of concussion protocol and could play on Monday. The last time we saw the Steelers, they defeated the Chargers in an impressive defensive performance. Can the Steelers defense continue to play lights out? Will the Dolphins upset the Steelers for their first win? I’m going with the Steelers and another dominating defensive performance.

Pittsburgh Win 31-17
